Mary

Mary moved to Marino because what could be better: sea a few minutes to the west, Marino conservation park an easy walk to the south-east.
Living the good life! Clean, fresh air.
May arrives and there is the first whiff of smoke in the air. The next morning her washing smells of woodsmoke and she has to rewash everything.Mary has asthma. Her cough is getting worse most nights. Getting closer to winter her autumn routine needs to change.
Mornings, Check if there is any wood smoke smell. If OK get the washing on the outside line to dry. It needs to come in by 4:00 pm otherwise she'll do it again. If woodsmoke she will have to dry it inside (clothes dryer?). Off to work.
Try to get home by 4:00 pm. Bring in washing. Hang up inside if not dry. Make sure all windows and doors are closed and door snake is there to stop woodsmoke creeping in. She would prefer to have a window open and to breathe the clean fresh air she sought when shifting to Marino. But her cough is getting worse and she seems to be getting more headaches these days.
6:00 pm. Put on the air purifier she bought to help with her asthma. She has tried everything to seal the house better but still the woodsmoke gets in.
Living the reality.
